How will my new baby kitten get along with the pets I already own?
a)
If it has been determined that your new kitten’s condition
is appropriate to expose to the other animals in your home, typically
there is a bit of tension at first, but often the jealousy is soon
replaced by friendship. However, there are circumstances in which
it is best too keep the new kitten separate from the others at first.
b) If your new kitten is not only new to you, but also a newborn
kitten, the circumstances are very different. There are very many
rules to follow and care to give to baby kittens when they are separated
from their mothers right away. Most importantly, there are delicate
procedures including keeping separate from other animals for a certain
amount of time so that illness is not spread. But there are also
feeding procedures, things to watch for, and many other details
to consider when caring for a tiny and truly helpless creature.
